Meet Your Regional Directors
As we kick off a brand new year, we would like to introduce you to the three Local 600 region directors who have joined us over the past year.
Your region directors play a vital role in supporting members by leading the staff at each of the regional offices and managing areas relating to collective bargaining agreements, contract enforcement, negotiations, organizing, and overall representation of our members. Each director has unique and extensive experience within the labor movement. Reporting to National Executive Director Alex Tonisson, they bring years of experience in the labor movement and work tirelessly to keep Local 600 running smoothly.
Joey Brenner
Central Region Director

Joey Brenner joined Local 600 in November 2024 after serving as the Director of Organizing and Bargaining with the SEIU-Florida Public Services Union. During his tenure, he mentored a team of organizers and secured numerous collective bargaining agreements during pivotal moments like the Great Recession and the COVID-19 pandemic. With over a decade in the labor movement, Joey is also skilled in grievance processing and arbitration. Meet Joey at the Atlanta Member Friday on February 7.
Anna Nowlan
Eastern Region Director

Anna Nowlan began her journey with Local 600 as a business representative for the Eastern Region in 2019. She later served as Assistant Eastern Region Director before stepping into her new role. Born in El Salvador, Anna immigrated to the U.S. in 1997 and was inspired by her mother’s leadership in the textile worker union UNITE HERE. Anna has also worked as a community organizer and on Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign. Meet Anna at the New York Member Friday on January 3.
Micki Bursalyan
Western Region Director

With 17 years of experience advocating for workers’ rights, Micki is a dedicated labor leader. Prior to joining Local 600, she was Staff Director for SEIU Local 221 and Senior Coordinator for SEIU International, a 2-million-member labor organization. Early in her career, she also served as a television business representative with AFTRA and later SAG/AFTRA.
Meet Your Regional Leadership Team
The region directors are supported by assistant region directors. Michael Chambliss serves as the Assistant Region Director for the Western Region, and Marche Cooper fulfills this role in the Central Region. The Eastern Region position is currently being filled, and we look forward to welcoming someone to this important role soon.
