Be A Director of Change with “Lights, Camera, Plastic?”

“Lights, Camera, Plastic?” is a campaign with the goal of eliminating single-use plastics on screen. Experts agree that film and television subliminally dictate what is and isn’t acceptable to our collective society. Similar to the anti-smoking movement we can reduce societal dependency on single-use plastics by removing them from our beloved films and television shows.
Why? With staggering numbers such as 1 million plastic bottles discarded per minute and 500 million plastic straws discarded per day or 40 billion pieces of plastic cutlery discarded per year, we must find innovative ways to close the “tap”. We need Hollywood to significantly reduce the amount of single-use plastic that is shown on screen so that we can end the normalization of trillions of single-use plastics discarded per year.
Support the “Lights, Camera, Plastic” campaign by replacing props that are made of single-use plastics and replacing them with reusable and more sustainable alternatives. Download the free toolkit (scroll down the page) to communicate easily with your cast and crew members!
