2025 Sarah Jones Opportunity Accepting Submissions

Applications are now being accepted for the Sarah Jones Opportunity!

The Sarah Jones Opportunity endeavors to honor the memory of our friend and colleague, Sarah Jones, who tragically lost her life on the set of Midnight Rider in 2014. This unique opportunity offers a “golden ticket” to one deserving individual each year who embodies the spirit of Sarah, harbors an intense passion and drive, and is ready to create a career in the camera department on major motion pictures and television. The recipient will train with industry professionals to acquire foundational technical knowledge, skills, and connections needed to jumpstart their professional journey.  

The recipient will receive full-time paid training at Commander Camera and Cinelease Lighting for 8-10 weeks. Upon successful completion, the recipient will join a Local 600 camera department as an additional digital utility for 30 paid set days on an unspecified television production in the fall/winter of 2025/2026. They will then be invited to join Local 600. All training will take place in Atlanta, GA, starting in August 2025.

The Sarah Jones Opportunity is open to college students and anyone aspiring to work in the camera department. Applications are due April 15, 2025.
