Relief for IATSE Local 600 Members Impacted by California Wildfires

If you are a Local 600 member who has been impacted by the California wildfires, we want you to know that there are resources available to assist you.  We also want to express our gratitude to the many firefighters, emergency responders, volunteers, and helpers for their efforts in the areas devastated by the current wildfires. Our hearts go out to all the people and communities affected. We have listed various Local and industry resources below. Also included is information about road closures and evacuation resources, provided by the IATSE. 

Local 600 and its' members share a long and proud history of coming together to help each other in times of need. If you are aware of a member who needs assistance, let us know so we can reach out.


Disaster Relief Resources

Actors Fund
The Actors Fund provides information for disaster relief on their website. For assistance accessing disaster resources through the Actors Fund, contact Local 600 dedicated representative Emily Lerner Garlick at (323) 330-2417 or by email at local600@actorsfund.org. The Actors Fund also administers Local 600's Hardship Fund and can assist members who would like to apply for financial relief through that fund (see below). 

MPTF
Members of the film and television community in Southern California affected by the wildfires can contact MPTF at (323) 634-3888 for assistance. 

Local 600 Hardship Fund
Local 600 members who have experienced financial hardship as a result of an injury, illness, or a manmade or natural disaster which prevents them from working can request a Hardship Grant by filling out the Hardship Fund Application. For assistance, contact the Local or Emily Lerner Garlick at The Actors Fund at (323) 330-2417.

IATSE 
IATSE members needing assistance should submit a written request to their local union. The local union will then forward their request to the Walsh/DiTolla/Spivak Foundation for review by the Foundation trustees.

Union Plus
If you are a union member who participates in certain Union Plus programs and have been affected, you may be eligible for financial assistance through the Union Plus Disaster Relief Grant program. The Union Plus Disaster Relief Fund has provided nearly $1 million in assistance to union members facing hardship following Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina, floods, wildfires and other natural disasters.
